The Great Pyramids in Egypt have a swirl of mystery around them. There are stories of energy vortexes, of mystical events, of hauntings and happenings that many can't explain.
One mystery was solved recently by Dublin-based lighting designer Kevin Saunders. And that mystery was: how would the Hog iPC console hold up to the sun and sand around the Pyramids?
On June 22, Saunders lit a performance of "Riverdance" for a corporate event in Cairo. The backdrop was the Great Pyramids of Giza. Though the Hog iPC console boasts many features, one advantage not mentioned on the product brochures is its ability to withstand the weather.
"It was very dusty to say the least, as you can see from the picture," Saunders says. "The Hog iPC was fantastic in temps up to 46 degrees Centigrade (115 degrees Fahrenheit) - and in the desert sand and wind! It worked perfectly."
The event was the launch of a new mobile phone company in Egypt. Lighting company ProLite supplied the console. Some of Egypt's government officials were among the invited guests.
