"Impact is the name of the game," says Scott Chmielewski of Digital Media Designs (DMD). So he chose to use 14 DL.2s, 7 Axon Media Servers and 16 Studio Commands to make an impact on the recent General Growth Properties annual managers meeting in Las Vegas.
"This is one of the largest corporate events I do every year," says Chmielewski. "Its a high-tech, high growth company, and they liked what I did last year using HES digital lighting, so theyve given me carte blanche this year."
Chmielewski and the graphics teams of GGP and Image Events Worldwide (his production client) created significant custom content of stills, static imagery and video loops. "We used the DL.2's Collage Generator software feature extensively to create city-scape images spanning the stage."
Two Wholehog 3 consoles with Wings controlled the show. "Everything worked exceptionally well," Chmielewski says. "It was perfectly synchronized. The technology built into the HES digital lighting, integrated with the Wholehog 3 console, made it a seamless endeavor."
Chmielewski's DMD team also included gaffers Gerard McCarthy and Sean Brosnan. Gear came from DMD and Main Light Industries.
"Main Light has become my first and usually my only call when I need to push the boundaries of technology. They have become more than just a lighting shop, but an innovator and supplier of the highest quality equipment and people," Chmielewski says.
