Kissing Pink, Brilliant in the Ship & Invading Poland

Friday, January 2, 2004 || TOMCAT Global

Brilliant Stages keeps busy with many projects happening at once at the beginning of a New Year. Working on a small stage set designed by Mark Fisher for Pink that consists of a rear fascia of dummy speaker cabinets placed upon their own existing walkway. The walkway incorporates two stairways and platforms attached to the front of the walkway and as usual Mark Fisher requested an odd scenic element… a flying birdcage in which Pink appears from at the top of the show.

Continuing the ongoing relationship with Princess Cruises, Brilliant Stages is building a complete new show called Pianoman for the cruise ship Diamond Princess which has just completed sea trials in Japan. The show consists of various scenes depicting famous pianists such as Liberace, Elton John etc. At the same time Brilliant is about to begin work on three other shows and will be building another version of Let’s Rock for the Caribbean Princess currently being built in Japan. This will be followed by repeats of these shows on the Sapphire Princess also being built in Japan. Altogether Brilliant Stages expects to do six new shows for Princess in the first quarter of this year.

Brilliant Stages has also been commissioned to replace the existing 7 year old conveyor system from Yo! Sushi’s flagship restaurant in Poland Street, Soho, London. It is a 50 meter long conveyor belt, which transports plates of Sushi around the restaurant; the customer can then retrieve his choices from the belt whilst seated at his table. This is the 10th Yo! Sushi conveyor system Brilliant Stages has supplied in the last two years.
